Amanda earned her Master of Arts degree in Counselor Education from The Ohio State University, a program ranked second in the nation by U.S. News and World Report at her time of study. She also has a Master’s of Science in Human Development and Family Science from The Ohio State University. Amanda is an independently licensed Professional Counselor and has been working with clients since 2005. Amanda works with adolescents and adults with a specialization in body image and eating disorders. She also works with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and PTSD.
Amanda has advanced professional training in eating disorder recovery and has formed partnerships with various eating disorder treatment centers around the country including the River Centre Clinic in Sylvania, Ohio and the renowned Remuda Ranch in Wickenburg, Arizona. These partnerships allow collaboration and transitional support prior to admission to an inpatient program as well as supportive therapy upon completion.
Amanda utilizes a compassionate but motivational approach to therapy regardless of the specific issue. Many clients struggle with understanding why they lack motivation to make changes and she believes it is essential to help clients gain insight and consistency regarding their own motivation. Amanda also possesses a strong ability to help clients find supportive resources and relationships so progress can continue outside of therapy. Most importantly, she believes that God is the Source of all healing and can offer a faith perspective for those interested.
